It deals with the birth of a feeling between two people with a 10-year age difference, which is especially noticeable due to Tsubaki's age, but who, by fate, met immediately in life, not when Tsubaki turned 18, and are discovering a totally pure "love." The boy has fallen in love with Yuu. It's his first crush. It's such a pure and naive love, from a child who knows nothing about eroticism or has no arousal. The worst part was being embarrassed, having tachycardia, finding Yuu beautiful and wanting to kiss him.
But there's also the feeling of a kiss that's only romantic and not sexual. I mean, there are many types of feelings that lead to a kiss, not just "sex." Then again, at 8 years old, Tsubaki doesn't even know what that is. Yu, for his part, has considerable affection, but he sees Tsubaki as a child, rightly so. His enormous affection has nothing erotic about it. He does NOT feel sexual attraction towards a child, damn it, but it shows and it's super clear.
