It would be misguiding, but it’s my opinion. I think “then” is more neutral, then with the jp reading we readers can assume whatever (I think he was about to ask Y to take him in).

I'm not fluent in japanese but from what the explanation in the last panel says perhaps rather than 'then..!', '...towards me' is more fitting don't u think? Well don't mind that i'm just so excited everytime this got an update yayy!!! Doumeki, i'm scared that he's got tired with yashiro and want to end things :")
