the author could've broken the cliche by developing Tj's character after the chapters he's been gone , it would've been really cool seeing something new, he's still young so it would've made sense but i guess that's a no.. It's sad , he had potential and almost made me fall cuz of his backstory but when you look at it from the other side of the table he is just a very self-centered character, not ready to sacrifice in the name of happiness at least. There's this almost animal desire that always drives him but not love towards Ian, feelings like not wanting to let go , being scared of loneliness. but not love. so damn selfish. gosh...

    Wouldn't the cliche be him getting redemption/developing? The point of tj character for a while was that he never wanted to change, he's near 40, he lost every opportunity given to him even from Ian.
