Okay hear me out. Normally I hate this troupe because it is normally a guy who was abusive and cheating, but in this case it feels a lot more like misunderstandings between each other snd themselves, so it feels a lot more realistic that he is now showing he likes her and she likes him back.
The way I am reading ML he did like her but he did not know that was the feelings he was having and he was really bad at reading what she wanted or needed, and the few times she did say it someone higher up would ask forbhim so he believed he had to go to them. That is why now he is giving her a lot more attention and is not the royal families lap dog because he figured out his feelings for her and that if he want her back he need to show it to her.
I dont think he fully gets it yet but I think he will get there.
What's even the reason for the breakup? They're just back again so easily, duh she's just human.
