Well yeah, the core of their interpersonal failures lies in their inability to interact with people normally. Neither of them had actual friends or normal friendly relationships with people their own age, so they have little to no idea how to relate to others unless it's a transactional process. DG may have been an introvert as well, but he had extroverted friends to bring him out of the gloomy times. Dan has never had anyone other than his grandma.
Could be because he's lived to take care of his grandma, so he feels like he doesn't have the time to make friends. The guy is always taking care of someone and when he's not he's sleeping at home so I feel like naturally he couldn't make friends and hence his bad communication skills
Well, the author really messed up there then. Kim Dan is canonically good-looking as hell and he went to college/uni, there’s no way someone like that wouldn’t have made at least one solid friend. People go through trauma, they’re introverted, sure, but they still manage to form connections. At the very least, there should’ve been one!
And Jaekyung, with his massive ego, still has people looking out for him at work and I doubt it’s completely one-sided. So why couldn’t Dan have that too?
Well he still studied for his degree, he would’ve had like-minded people around him, so it’s insane that he didn’t make even ONE real connection. Honestly, it feels intentional, like the author kept him isolated on purpose so someone like Jaekyung could come and go as he pleased, without Dan having anyone to protect or look out for him.
Yeah I see your point, maybe he did have friends before but he focused on his job more? Who knows but it does seem intentional from the author
I need Kim Dan to make some new friends, like WHY is it only this one guy orbiting around him? At least Dong yun had Chanwoo. The author’s got Dan completely isolated from the world, leaving him stuck with just this one destructive mf and honestly, that’s what feels more depressing to me. It’s not even JK’s callousness that affects him the most it’s the sheer lack of companionship, whether platonic or romantic.
