Like I don't know what yo think about garp, cause he went along with everything the world government were doing with the Marines complacent and WHILE knowing this wanted his son and his grandsons to enter Marines...... Like why?????? I get he can act as he wants because he has made a name for himself and is an indispensable asset to the Marines but still over all it just feels wierd cause either garp didn't know ( which I highly doubt) or either the higher Marin officers have some sort of a deal or something( because they do know the thre form of the 5 elders)

I already thought Garp was a POS after putting the Navy before Ace and Luffy, but now it's clear with this that he has always been a POS.

I’ll personally reserve judgement after the god valley arc is over. As for being a marine, I think it’s easy to forget the majority of pirates aren’t guys like the Straw Hats, Rocks Pirates or Roger Pirates. In a world where literal scum rules the earth, you can’t only have scum working under them. You need people like Garp, Fujitora and Koby. Guys who know both sides of the world and know how to tow that line. One person can’t change the entire world, especially considering most people don’t even truly understand the structure of the world they’re ruled by. So in some cases, changes can only be done from the inside. So you need more like yourself. Not only that, but just by being born, Ace was somehow a threat. They wanted to kill him before he was even born. That’s why he didn’t put Ace in the same village as Luffy; he had him raised by bandits instead so he’d stay hidden in plain sight. Luffy’s dad being who he is, is also enough to get him hunted whether or not he chose to be a pirate. Wanting them to be pirates is a form of protection. That’s why he cried when Ace was captured, because that’s the only outcome that awaits them unless they become powerful enough to protect themselves.

I believe the old man has a bit of understanding of what a D. was... and to ensure "the clan's" safety, they have to be under the marine's regulation and rule....

It's just a speculation of mine tho

sigh... sorry for some lacking parts.

(after ...) based on his own understanding on that matter, he came to a conclusion that even if WG was a dumpster, it was the last bastion.~~ (continue to ... and to)

Garp isn’t bad, you could see it at the marineford!
I’m guessing because he already pledged to the marine before he knew what’s going on, so the oath preventing him from taking their side! Besides if he really did stand with the gov for it’s shitty doings he would’ve been more stern than letting his grandson be raised by outlaws and in a place where it’s suspiciously targeted by revolutionary!
Or it could be that there’s a reason for him to stay like he’s protecting something or a spy or trying to save something!

Not to mention that one of the reasons why he decided not to rank up to admiral is because they’re directly under the authority of celestial dragons. There’s no wiggle room there.
