what makes it worse is when one of the characters/both acknowledge the situation is sus but go along with it anyway
like that one scene in dawn of the dragon where the CEO guy gets amnesia and he literally says something along the lines of " It feels like I'm more of a guardian than a spouse to this guy" referring to his relationship with the dragon
that completely caught me off guard

Yeah it’s called “lamp shading” when then an author or creator does this. It’s “subtle” acknowledgment of an issue or unsavory situation rather than full gaslighting their audience. I actually didn’t read Dawn of the Dragon for this reason, I will NEVER understand the logic of writing this type of plot even if fiction. What is attractive about becoming sexually involved with someone you see as a fucking child or rearing responsibility? It’s not exclusive to BL, but this genre has a plethora of disturbing issues that don’t help perpetuate dangerous stereotypes about gay men being predators, pedophiles, and perverts all for the sake of predominantly straight women to get off on. And I just read the comments section before starting to read this WEBTOON out of boredom and I’m glad I did before reading this mess.
he raised him…
like is it that clicking to anybody how weird that is??? like he literally is supposed to be a father figure to this CHILD
