I don't think he even ever loved her I think he just wanted to be a hero because she was pretty and easy. He was her whole world she was basically dependent on him emotionally and sometimes physically. He was arrogant then, and he's still arrogant now. The teacher was right he did get crushed when he finally faced a real world problem! He never grew up and let this choice become a shadow over his whole life and doesn't take accountability for anything instead lashing out and blaming everyone but himself when HE CHOSE THIS! He has a chance to get back on the original path with a rich girl like Ari but he still can't let go of Haesoo because like a child he thinks he owns her.
He stupidly chose love over an education- WAIT DON’T CANCEL ME LET ME GET TO THE POINT!!
*He stupidly chose something he couldn’t provide for out of love from the MIND of a 18-19 year old.
What he could’ve done is have Na hae su stay with him at his parents house and gone to college while Na has su made plans to either get a job or go to college as well. I honestly have no idea why they went the western route. It’s common in western cultures to move out at 18 whereas EVERYWHERE ELSE its normal to stay with your parents until you get married/graduate college.
+ The fact that he chose the life he did WANTING to provide for Na hae su but lashed out at her for it is why we still hate him. If anything this chapter is the driving force for my hate towards him. So many false promises and then doing the opposite for her. This does not make me sympathize with him one bit.
