rant here. don't read if you like this manhwa a lot.

jaechan's harebrained plan still ended up causing the death of one person anyway, and it's purely plot convenience that his attempt to negotiate that hostage worked in his favour. it's incredibly stupid to me, his sorry excuse of a plan shouldn't have worked at all.
also, it really bothered me that despite there being 100 civilians who were being held hostage, both jaechan and woojin keep thinking only about each other. woojin even attempts to rush towards the men who are literally holding guns and pointing it at the hostages just because he thinks jaechan might be in danger.
idk. this is ofc a yaoi manhwa first and foremost but it's still irritating to see them not give that much fucks about the npcs. maybe i'm projecting the mcs from other survival manhwas i've read on these characters too much. to clarify: it's because i was really interested in the plot that i was holding it to a higher standards than i would the other trashy bls i love to read.

tbf in the novel there's a lot more thinking and weighing the pros and cons and it sells the idea way better
lot more back and forth and reasoning with the terrorists too

i wasn't aware there's a novel. that makes more sense then, these manhwas always leave out a lot of stuff from the novels

true, i actually like reading the mangas parallel to the novel haha

in the novel Jaechan spends more time thinking about how to figure out the attack's date, how to ensure he is in the theater at the right moment, etc, it's just way more believable

Spoiler, the terrorist killed one of their own who betrayed them. In the novel there's more background of what happened... Jaechan actually didn't know that some of the casualties in the past was caused by the military... So his planning was all on what he knows from the news at that time... Which some facts were actually fabricated as a cover up... That's why some events look different. It did had a butterfly effect.. after all Jaechan still being a well knowned son by an esper means the military can't carelessly sacrifice the civilians... Now switching the hostages make sense as the terrorist dun actually want to hurt a civilian more of a child... And it is true that it will be hard to control a child over an adult which could cause more casualty...

Another add, the only one pure evil in this terrorist group is the esper that could teleport...

    some spoilers

the one they killed is a triator from their group, not an innocent civilian. They didn’t plant to kill anyone actually, they simply wanted attention bc their ‘scientist’ got discovered and killed by the espers and they need to find him and his hideout.
They wanted to talk with the president so they could have a leverage and have this whole thing created on purpose.
Other spoiler, in the past life, it was actually the President’s decision to make the wall collapse that killed all the civilians, not the group of terrorists.
The bombs they put were all fake and if the wall didn’t collapse, they wouldn’t have shoot anyone.
This is because the whole group is made of people who want to gain stuff without actually creating problems, the only cruel and evil bitch is the red headed called Blink.
Also, in the novel both leads are mostly thinking about saving the civilians, in fact, Jae Chan plan since returning in this life, was that of saving all the people who died in those different disasters he previously went through.
The situation is a switch for Woo jin bc in his past life Jae Chan was always extremely selfish and always thought about his well being but now that Woo jin is slowly starting to have feelings for him, he felt very caught off guard about Jae Chan’s behavior and most importantly, he felt caught off guard about his own emotions since he is slowly starting to care about him.
In the novel everything is explained very well but it’s obvious that since this a manga, they have to make the story progress faster and leave some particular descriptions out.
The story is very well thought and honestly the novel was one of the best I’ve read, don’t drop your expectations too much.

Truee! I read it 3x already and re-reading it again. Their emotions are far more raw in the novel

same for me! I’ve read it multiple times and in fact, I hope the manwha will pick up soon cause I can’t wait to see what happens in the novel, come together in the manwha I just love how their feelings progress very throughly and not all at once, especially from Woo jin’s prospective since apparently in his past life, he wasn’t fond of Jae Chan. Hopefully we will get season 2 very soon, it’s been months! In the mean time, I’m gonna read the novel again
