Actually TJ is a good representation for people that get stuck in gangs. So yeah, understanding the depth of the character might make the story better— even if he isn’t a character you like. He’s very well written with complex emotions that are driven by fear and the desire for power. Saying that he is not worthy of our analysis and understanding of the character(because of how he treated Ian) does the whole story injustice. All of the characters are realistic and have depth.

Actually guy we should all try to understand TJ. I mean he got a hard ass childhood. All Ian went through is getting abuse by his mother, rape and then getting emotionally abuse by his DL lover and got his leg broke, put in prison and debt. But I'm sure TJ didn't mean to do it yk. He is such a silly little guy.Don't understand Ian tho but you got to understand TJ tho. He is so such a tragic character. It's not like he is greedy and selfish. All he did was want power and money for himself and he wanted to have Ian by his side without any regards for what Ian wants or try to meet halfway. But how can we blame him? How can we call him selfish even if he beg Ian to understand and endured it again after he went through it for 20 years. And all he did after that was getting all insecure bringing Jo into the conversation and threatening to knock Ian out and carry him but hey I mean look at Ian tho. Ian so pathetic for crying or having any feeling of frustration after saying something that he kept quiet about for 2 decades. How could Ian have any feeling. He is so selfish. And hey TJ kept the scares on his face to guilt trip Ian and when he found Ian all he did was drag Ian into a public bathroom and after all that he gaslight Ian talking about "ofc you don't care. You left" even if it wasn't even his dream or what he wants but he did it because of his DL lover and it not like whenever he try to chose himself he gets his leg break or anything like that or he was stuck in debt and have to do the gang work or anything like that tho. So you have to understand TJ guys. He is such a silly litte guy. All he wants is to have his cake and eat it too. That's literally all he wanted.
