yep i totally agree, he deserves a chance at love & a chance to seek professional help! I just have a feeling that this manhwa might have a tragic ending -
(Sorry for incoming wall of text, i am a big psychology nerd lolololol ^^)
-in which i thought it would be a bit poetic if JH ended up stuck in the same cycle as his father, despite growing up watching his mother essentially be held against her will & emotionally abused (especially since SY reminds JH of his late mother).
Its sad that JH hasn't gotten the care & support that he required whilst he was experiencing the ongoing physical/emotional abuse, and its sad that no one around him cares enough to give him some help.
For me JH has already (far) crossed the line for what i would personally forgive, but i'm not the MC hahaha. although since he is now an adult, even if it was due to mental instability, his actions have had pretty serious consequences that mainly fall on other characters. Empathy IS important, but it should not constantly come at the sacrifice of safety & health.
TLDR: It's not Jihwan's fault his brain works differently, but it also isn't Sooyoung's either + abuse isn't cool yo. ٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶
i have a feeling jihwan is going to follow in his dads footsteps and lock our sooyoung up, just like his mother. I'd imagine the author is setting us up for a tragic end but the publisher might want a more happy ending. I think an ending where jihwan ends up unhappy like his father would be quite satisfying
