Na-uh, you won't make feel sorry for this MF
*even though i know the story will end with both of them deeply in love with each other and the bottom forgets everything he went through*

The backstory isn’t written to make you pity said MF. It’s there so the character and story don’t feel hollow, as nobody exists in a vacuum. Knowing what shaped him through a backstory explains to the reader why he acts the way he does now, but it doesn’t mean you have to forgive or sympathize with him. What you feel about it is entirely up to you as a reader. The author’s just giving context, not instructions on how you’re supposed to react. But yes, I agree with your prediction of the ending. The dynamics of the relationship will do a 180, perhaps even into something overly "sweet" and lovey-dovey..
