I mean….if you search the background of the majority of individuals we call “psychopaths” most of them have a traumatic background but I get what u mean. Maybe it would be fun to have a wicked individual just because it is inherently evil.
You’re right about the psychopath part. I guess my frustration isn’t only about whether he’s a plain psycho or shaped by abuse, it’s that I’ve seen this exact sequence of events play out in way too many manhwas. A little variety in the backstory would be refreshing. It’s always the father, the stepmother and the sibling.
I’m not even picky, I’ll gobble up anything if the plot is even slightly decent. But can these authors come up with anything besides the same recycled sob stories? Abusive childhood, cruel father figure, sibling rivalry, toxic bully sibling…it’s so tired. At least dress it up differently if you’re going to use it again. Chang-gyeon seemed mentally unwell in season 1, so why not just go full psychopath with no sob story? Or at least give us something different than the 200 others that came before.
