what does/did the mirror do

From what i underatand, the mirror is like another dimension/portal where seth’s wife (i forgot how to spell her name) got trapped. Not her entirely but a part of her soul/emotion (her love for seth) got trap and what comes out of the mirror is a shell of herself. So what seth assumes happened to her also happened to Horus (where he got manipulated to THINK he loves Seth)—this is what Seth believes and now doubts what Horus’ intentions truly are (this is my understanding—someone who may know the mirror better please explain/correct me!)

The mirror was a gift from ra to hathor and there are 2 of them. It has magical capabilities such as if u look into it and there's someone else looking at it from other side, then you'll see their reflection n fall in love with them against your will. If there is someone u alr love then the mirror will rip u in pieces and the part of u that loves someone else gets locked up forever in mirror void while outside u is incomplete but reset version who now loves the person reflected in mirror.
2. If the person reflected in mirror is same as person in your heart then u wont be trapped you'll be able to leave void but temporarily you'll be under mirrors magic influence n it'll heighten your deepest desire so badly that you'll act them out against your will.

Osiris wanted to use it on seth n snuck it in among his war spoil gifts but neph accidentally gazed at it. She fell in love with osiris n since Her deepest desire was to have seth's child (osiris stole Seth's sperm unbeknownst to them) she went to osishit n begged him to have a kid with her. The part taht loved seth was locked inside mirror all these centuries since then until ch 186 when isis finally notices shi n rescues her from mirror with help from sekhmet

Hathor wanted to do the same to horus but seth was messing around n his gaze was what horus saw in mirror but horus alr loves seth so he wasnt split or trapped but under magic influence he raped seth against his wish when seth had crept in his bed to rape him in s1.

Breaking the mirror does nothing cuz neph isnt inside it anymore. Horus knows this but seth doesnt know which is why he attacked horus like this.

Osiris riddled seth with so much insecurities n deep rooted fear /doubt that even falling in love with horus - something that finally seth did on his own without any outside manipulation (like his sham marriage to neph as orchestrated by osiris) was a big step forward in his character development but when hathor revealed neph's condition n said horus was suffering the same ( she doesn't kno horus alrdy loved seth in his heart lol so she thinks horus is also bewtiched) seth instantly fell for it cuz of his crippling insecurities n self hatred. He mumbles ofc who'd fall for someone like him n is absolutely devastated n wanted to run back to neph even tho he doesnt love her anymore because she is nostalgia n familiarity someone he thought he wouldn't be able to hurt him the way he feels betrayed rn. He is more hurt by the fact that horus love is fake than the fact of horus hiding neph's secret Σ( ￣□￣||)

So entire plot is basically osiris working harder than Satan for his one sided obession with seth. And to that extent he's manipulated/used/ abused everyone and their granma around him to achieve hjs grand plans. Manhwa ennead follows actual mythology albeit loosely btw. Mojito's version starts with sun god birthing kids n her kids nut geb wanting to have kids which she opposed cuz of thr future she saw (her throne would be taken ) so she bans them but with thoth help nut geb have kids osiris, isis seth nephtys who currently rule egypt rn. Osiris wrested throne from ra as foretold n he's the supreme god rn as well as ruler of egypt which he got by marrying isis who's suppose to be actual ruler ( he tricked isis into marrying him by faking love n relationship w her) osiris is god of fertility while isis is goddess of magic n miracles plus mother of nile chief goddess of the river n also Seth's fellow strategist in war. Seth is god of sand deserts n war/chaos/unrest while neph is goddess of peace n harmony. Acc to actual myth sekhmet goddess of anarchy n destruction sows discord in seth who ends up killing osiris n takes throne for himself until osiris son horus avenges the murder n defeats seth in series of competition to reclaim his right to throne. In manhwa ennead things go similar but plot core is osiris obession. Sekhmet reveals to seth that anubis isnt his son n neph cheated. Seth confronts osiris who spews bs turns Seth's reality upside down n completely manipulates him mentally wearing n breaking him down into severe self insecurities n vulnerability n rapes him by drugging him..his objective? To make seth pregnant. Why? Cuz he's a misogynistic patriarchal mudafaka who thinks babytrapping seth could bound him like how het relationship couple are connected by their offsprings. He's also stolen Seth's sperm all this time making seth infertile which is why him n neph never had baby of their own n it was neph's deepest desire to have seths kid. So when osiris used mirror on seth n neph accidentally gazed in it. Not only she got ripped n locked in but her deepest desire heightened by magic made her approach osiris n beg him to cheat n have a child. Aka anubis..osiris uses anubis as a wager over seth all the time in manhwa to try n get him to duat since after dying osiris became god of duat n cant leave the underworld without a physical host manifesting his soul. He originally planned to use anubis as a vessel body to bring the child he wanted to make with seth cuz he was frustrated that male gods cant have kids [he experimented on this alot] seth ofc doesnt know all that n after learinv abt neph cheating, anubis not being his kid n being raped by osiris n getting humiliated like this he kills n chops osiris n throws him to nile as suggested by sekhmet [ btw sekhmet has her own beef against osiris n she's not really on our side n isnt trustable. Her motives for rage n revenge are not yet revealed n her actions are dubious as foe or ally]
Seth having lost his mind wanted to rape isis n lock her up but she escapes with neph's help which enrages seth n he locks neph n tortures anubis to the point of suicide. Also meanwhile in his deranged n mentally insane state he absolutely ruins egypt. Women n kids are slaughtered by him to forge his weapon against osiris and he kills them mercilessly so much that in entire egypt theres women shortage n male prostitution normalised cuz leftover eomen are either hiding or captured by caravan [seths followers who offer seth kids n women for slaughtering ] his actions are inexcusable but he's really a victim alright n at som point he wanted to be confronted n killed by someone who'd oppose him. Hence when horus showed up to reclaim throne n avenge isis. Seth was more than happy to engage in battle n die by horus hand properly but as well all know horus actually loves seth n he wouldnt harm/ kill seth so their competitions go that way until seth is defeated n brought to court trial finally. +

In trial his war crimes n crimes against humanity are judged by maat goddess of justice n ra's daughter and everyone vote for destruction of his soul but ra interferes heavily n proposes for seth to row her sun boat for eternity (we dunno her motives why she'd go to such lengths to protect seth) also she eggs everyone to try n find out the reason behind osiris death but seth wojld rather die than air out what really happened that night cuz his rape n manipulation by osiris has successfully made him feel completely weak powerless pathetic n humiliated. He feels his existence is no use chz osiris made his existence possible by stretching desert n making egypt infertile which - mind u was once fertile lands. Horus helps seth hide what happened that night. Neph begs for Seth's life n by pressure from ra maat makes a judgement that seth must feel the injustice n pain he inflicted on each n every soul and atone during a probation period. If he manages to avenge all the souls n send them peacefully to duat n restore fhe life n dead balance then his soul wont be destroyed n he could Carry out rest of hjs punishment on ra's sun boat. Neph gives seth her harmony to help him gather the curse of all the souls n s1 ends with him leaving to do this work
S2 is him moving thru out egypt trying to avenge the curses of the dead souls, him meeting anubis who after commiting suicide became god of duat under osiris intervention n botched ascession. Anubis doesnt remember seth as his father cuz of osiris n osiris also makes anubis vessel to shoulder half / more part of Seth's punishment curse aka the souls.osiris tries to drag sefh to duat using anubis n even makes the caravan aka seths followers rape seth n rapes him too by inhabiting body of the caravan leader. Seth was hiding in caravan to stop them from kidnapping more women n children. The caravan got to know that leftover women were hiding in isis temple protection so they wanted to get them they alrdy caught chief priestess daughter n raped /killed her so seth actually was there to stop them but got graped instead [it kinda assauged some of the curse btw cuz thats what most of the women suffered under his tyranny) anyway horus comes n saves him. Horus seth n Zeus( foreign motherfcker god who raped seth when seth was put on auction by traffickers) band up n we see them for entirety of s2 working together. Zeus came to egypt upon isis invitation to help her claim throne but he wants something in exchange which we dunno yet but most probably help in winning fight over cronos n free his siblings maybe? Anyway Zeus wanted to reach moon temple cuz he n maat/thoth made n agreement. Seth too decided to pay maat n thoth a visit to ask about anubis condition and horus wanted to know about his inherent sharp intuition which he was born with (his intuition isnt his. It belongs to ra) after solving puzzles riddles they reach moon temple and each of them receives one reward for their hardwork. Now reaching moon temple, what their conversation meant, cryptic messages mojito hiding about their past lives and other theories+ details i can explain if u dont understand them but I hope u give it a re read once again from beginning. The later part of s2 is them coming closer to past discoveries abt ancient gods, their own past lives, about osiris actions and learning abt taboo / code of conduct by god as explained by thoth. Gods mustn't mimic humans nor try to remember their past forcefully or else it'll reset n as law of universe casualty they'll perish die or be destroyed. After this relevation we are shown that osiris was looking for seths past life records n even experimented heavily on seth trying to make him remember something again n again while seth kept tethering on edge of destruction and each time he cracked osiris would stretch the desert to stabilise seths existence n use neph to piece seth together n stabilise his existence wirh harmony. Osiris even made them marry to keep seth leashed around him.. Seth n nep had a happy marriage bht it was doomed to fail from start. There are multiple theories... like osiris x seth past lovers but its less popular n less possibility than past life horus n Seth as lovers theory. This theory say past life horus was murdered by seth but pretty sure osiris had a hand in it. (Mojito hides clues via hieroglyphics which can be translated)

There are more theories like Ra x Hathor lovers, hathor ra's original intended successor whose spot was stolen by past life horus, ra's three forms khepri amunet ra n abt a god that'll devour/ absorb sun by end of s2. We think its gonna be horus who will ascend soon as full god n according to actual mythology there's a form of horus called ra horakhty which is mentioned in manhwa too or it can be a new god lol.
