Same thought, and there are ppl out there who downvote the comments calling out non-con/rape (and justified it as "He wAS A PsYChO") bc they are fetishizing in BL relationship. If that happened in GL or hetero it would have been a different story. I'm for good art but man this is depressing
I am really glad the tide is turning in the comments and most BL readers are being turned off by non-con. If we don't put our foot down and draw the line somewhere, pretty sure all 99 percent of the stories on the front page are gonna be non-con as the authors will hop on the bandwagon and assume rape is what most readers like. I don't want to be in that timeline. I hope people speak up.
Yes, we love toxicity. Yes, we love fucked up dynamics and fucked up characters doing fucked up things to each other. We like psycho characters like Dexter Morgan doing fucked up things - but he is written in an interesting way. But authors can show it in SO many ways. Why resort to boring ass mid rape scenes when we can have a delicious push-pull dynamic until the characters fall into bed together 'cause they can't control their lust for each other anymore?
I blame BL going super commercial in this webtoon age/BL drama age. Money before a good story. Like modern Hollywood with really bad scripts that sell well because the audience doesn't know any better. It's like these authors don't care about the intellectual level of their audience. Super insulting! And no, I am not going to shut up and find another story because all the promising stories are ending up like this because of this stupid non-con trend! I want that to stop, period, because I care what the next generation of readers are going to read. And they deserve better. They deserve MORE.
This is not an issue of Enzo not being a bottom. I was really looking forward to seeing him put his eggplant in Uno until my expectations went down the gutter with the puking. Forcing a large item into somebody's dry unstretched unlubricated asshole is so bland and boring.
