Was trapped for centuries yes but in ch 186 when outside neph tries to take in anubis who's dangerously unstable snd contain him within her, she n isis find that neph is incomplete and theres parts of her missing which isnt normal. Isis finally takes character development worthy step to acknowledge everything was osiris fault n how seth n neph were victims. Anyway sekhemt shows up n with her help isis frees locked neph from mirror n u can see her headpiece re appear which previously had crumbled away aka meaning she is complete now as goddess of harmony n peace n fully whole. Horus found this out in later chapters that neph left mirror some time ago. Hence him breaking it was just a momentary loss of rationality blindsided by immature jealousy and his fear of abandonment
