Sooyoung is an adult and he’d witness jiwhan isolating him (with school and his friends) when he was in highschool which he was smart enough to run away from him. That for me is the sooyoung I liked
Also for the latter of what you said, that is season 2 sooyoung. Season 3 sooyoung got reversed back to his season 1 sooyoung.
Bc he’s very NAIVE.
I get that the author wants to keep this story going with a psychopath ml but at least make the mc mature as well and smart enough to know that he’s being manipulated instead of instantly falling for the ml. I’m tired of reading these taeui like bottoms in bl.

Wth, what if side couple is even more toxic, are you gonna read it regardless just because? And what do you mean by "drop main couple and do side" then side couple would became main couple and it wouldn't exactly be the same story now would it? You can absolutely go read something else with much better couples yet you gonna stick here now cause they added another toxic couple lol, dedication

Exactly! I mean for him being brave and always said what's on his mind despite he knew well that Jihwan is a crazy mf is ALREADY A BIG STEP. There's a HUGE POWER IMBALANCE and sooyoung is barely an adult, NO ONE thought him what to do, no one can be a good parents figure for him to look up too, his family situation is fucked up, living under proverty also make it worse. Eventhough his uncle is there but it's just to support him financially a bit, but still can't replace a parent figure cause his uncle also struggles too.
I know this is a manhwa which is fiction, but i think it's reflected in real life situation, don't you think so too? Like the sentiment for the victim who's clearly in an abusive relationship is just so.... Sometimes it makes me sad too cause how ppl expect someone to ACT THE WAY THEY WANT HIM TO ACT when they're clearly not on his shoes... Like sooyoung is faaaar from "dumb"
He didn't know it at first how jihwan is a crazy mf, cause we SAW it from third perspective! So easy for us to say, "stay away from him!" But from his perspective? He can't see it. But when sooyoung know that jihwan is a sick individual he immediately put a distance, REMEMBER that sooyoung is sexually assaulted too and in an abusive relationship before he met Jihwan. Sooyoung is depressed and clearly has a issue but at least he can still stand on his ground and set his boundaries.

Who knows if they’re gonna be toxic or not?
But I rather see something new than to see the same things happening to the main couple over and over again.
The fact that something bad is going to happen to sooyoung again is just exhausting (especially knowing that he may get raped by jiwhan again if he rejected him)
It would be the same story if the author split moments btw the main couple and the side couple. I just don’t want to see the main couple anymore and the story will be more enjoyable (tolerable) if there’s a couple that is taking moments away from the main couple.
I can read whatever the fuck I want my guy. I liked this story and I thought about dropping it before the haitus but I’m curious if sooyoung would be better than before especially after this brutal rape scene that we had to read. So far I don’t see sooyoung changing but I’m glad there’s a possibility of a side couple to keep my interest.

No dude,
Sooyoung saw his friend in the hospital and even ask jiwhan if he hurt him and jiwhan confirmed he did.
Sooyoung also heard that jiwhan mess up his application for university.
I doubt the author attention was for sooyoung to have an abuse victim mindset bc if that were the case he would have been afraid of him like with gyujin. But as we can see he has this mindset of thinking jiwhan has changed which doesn’t make sense when he got sooyoung’s phone number without his permission and stalked him to his house and workplace.
And also he went into his car and drank at his place knowing he had a bad feeling about it too???
People have the right to think that he should run away bc HE LITERALLY DID THAT AT THE END OF SEASON 2. The author is purposely making him stupid when he wasn’t when he was with gyujin and at the end of season 2.

SY is NOT and adult … he’s a highschooler as you said. You expect way too much of a teenager - if SY would be in a relationship with a legit adult, like 30 * yrs it suddenly would be grooming and age difference.
It was clearly depicted that sooyoung is „curious“ about sex, especially since he’s gay, and it was shown from the very beginning. He didn’t realize jihwan was isolating him - he was confused as to why the others are being weird. The moment he knew about jihwan messing with his grades; he IMMEDIATELY cut him off.
And yes he’s being very, well, submissive towards him now because he’s whipped, he’s in love. People in love are quite easy to handle sadly. On top off that, he’s been manipulated by jihwan all this time.
You could call this dumb I guess but generalizing a victim like that just doesn’t sit well with me

Heavy heavy on the power imbalance. Sooyoung is inferior in every aspect - physically, financially and socially. It’s remarkable how far he has gotten despite all this, especially the „I can’t handle him“ part and SY KNOWS!!! That he loves jihwan still.
I really like sooyoung since he’s so painfully human, he’s naive but smart. He’s helplessly in love but wants to let go.

About the drinking thing, I was also VERY frustrated about this. But if you’re reading carefully, sooyoung felt like he couldn’t reject the glass, he felt pressure to drink.
If he had thought something like „omg yes wine I love wine let’s get drunk“ than THAT would have been dumb. But sooyoung is scared …

Omg. You get it!!! I agree with you 100% Sooyoung is very much acting like his age and character. His thought process is very real, makes sense and relatable. Anyone who have been manipulated, in an abuse relationship would know that it takes a long time before the victim even realizes what’s going on and because the victim has developed feelings for the abuser, they tend to try and forgive them, try to communicate with them, only to give the abuser another chance to manipulate them into thinking that they’re better now.

Yes I agree. In OPs opinion, sooyoung is dumb and weak, and I get their frustration about SY not consequentially getting away from jihwan. But it’s difficult to explain what a victim of abuse is going through and easy to say that they are stupid. Yes SY action itself seems very naive and dumb but the thought process behind it isn’t.
Hes already very strong for telling jihwan to stop, for cutting him off and confronting him with what he has done. All that even tho SY knows that he still has feelings for jihwan. Idk but I’d be devastated if my first love ever did that to me and god knows what I’d do hahaha
ARE WE GETTING A SIDE COUPLE???!
I SWEAR IF WE ARE I CAN FINALLY GAIN SOME INTEREST INTO THIS STORY INSTEAD OF FORCING MYSELF READING THE MAIN DUO!!!
no seriously author, please just drop the main couple and do a side couple. You know that the main couple is trash, mc is dumb, and the ml is a fucked up guy that no one likes.
