They met when the bottom was 15 and he was 19, he had no romantic feelings for the bottom then and therefore rejected him when he confessed. He starts to like him but there's a spoiler I can't reveal on why he's hesitant and it has a lot to do with when he was 19. He's good at hiding his emotions I will say that, he was smiling even when rejected in Omega Complex, but I think his general lightheartedness has a lot to do with how he was raised.
