If you look closely at other panels, there *seems* to be a mattress. I think it's probably a type of bedframe that you put the mattress inside and it sort of sinks in, you know?
Or something like that..
I'm just now noticing this since I saw it in the next raw chapter, but Pania's bed is literally a wooden pallet with a thin sheet of cloth over it. No mattress. How she masturbate or go to sleep comfortably? Lol.
