You can definitely be genuine yet manipulative at the same time. Jiho knows that him having lingering feelings/seeking out Yoojun, is harming Yoojun. He also knows that him being out of his life would most likely be the best option here. Yet he still does it because in a way he's selfish, and wants comfort. There's no way they can be a couple if he doesn't get serious help. Though I'd say it's very difficult for them to remain together since they're so toxic and have crossed many boundaries that are beyond the point of no return.
Besides what I said earlier, as someone who has something somewhat similar happen to them, I would hate it if the person who hurt me so deeply were to come back and want me to act as if what they did, didn't harm me.
