Hmm... am I the only one who feels like Hagiwara and Maki don't really have chemistry as a romantic pair? Like outside of child rearing, I don't think their relationship was developed well. And Maki was written oddly--you can't shed the sheep's skin, bare your teeth, and then put it back on again and make it believable. It's weird that he still persists in acting all innocent and pure when he's being 'fatherly' but at the same time is capable of a callous kind of emotional manipulation (thinking of that mock abandonment scene...). I think the mangaka needs to make up her mind on some points in order to sell all of this.

And on the topic of Ritsu's mother, I don't believe a woman who would neglect her newborn while drinking and smoking while in the same room would be even capable of coming to full term without... doing all of the above during pregnancy. Let's say abortion wasn't an option for her to begin with. How does Ritsu not have health issues? She would definitely have smoke and drank while pregnant. I'm aware this is just a generic manga but the lack of thought put into it is bothering me lolol.

Well many of people have already explained the tomato scene when the first chapter came.and i think they have a really great chemistry seme is lkimd and loving to the people he likes and love and up on hos guard who he have problems with.most of the parents have that emotional manipulation thing going on towrds their child who is not capable of understanding thing on his own he cant act fatherly he is a father who raised a child who wasn't even his in a first place.and except for few people .many of us like this so i think mangaka is selling well.

Wow, all of you really jumped down my throat on that one. I'm not saying the mangaka isn't trying, I'm saying the product of their efforts isn't particularly good. There's nothing wrong with being critical of the media we consume. I'd say that's a part of literacy. But anyway.

And hey, if my comment's "bothering you so much," couldn't /you/ just "go on further" and read a different comment? Have some self-awareness, man.
