I remember reading even if you don't love me. The top was scum too and he got the bottom a dog and it was kinda helping to have someone (even if it's a pet) between the bottom and the abuser since they can't help but live together, it's just less threatening and helps to heal the trauma feeling more secure cause he's not alone. Pets really help with loneliness and depression, it wouldn't kill Jaekyung to bring one puppy with him to help with Dan's condition. Dan liked the dogs and it was kinda sad to see the cute puppies running after the moving car
