Me wondering how the fuck it‘s possible that they are japanese teenagers now but in their past life they were clearly from the middle ages or renaissance but still look identical. Since that era never existed in Japan and there was no japanese king in europe it‘s more likely, they lived in a parallel world and not just centuries ago

I know it‘s fiction but I couldn’t stop thinking about it whenever there was a sequence from their memories

ive stopped trying to make sense of it ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭ i feel like author just wanted to draw renaissance clothing but isn't familiar with modern day Europe so it was set in japan instead lol

also, there was no reason to put them in japan when most of europe has same-sex marriage and this is supposed to be there happy life. wdym they get a second chance in japan lmao

i mean, discrimination against gay people still exist everywhere, even in places that legalize queer unions, and many gay couples are still able to achieve happiness in japan despite the discrimination.

the story focused on their relationship and the weight of their promises, so i think it’s fine even if it isn’t realistic world-building (reincarnation itself is already under fantasy). it is fictional. this story could have worked anywhere. iirc there isn’t even any explicit indication of where they really are (as in the narration never said we were in a certain country), and inspiration doesn’t always mean representation.
