JJK isnt the worst red flag out there amongst ML's but he's nowhere near great either. I probably have a more generous opinion of him than most already too. I think it was ok that he was seeking sexual favors from KD, and that he had clear boundaries and rules about certain things even if they were quite harsh to KD bc initially, they did have a transactional relationship. Kim Dan did not have to enter that agreement with JJK and JJK was not the one who put KD into debt either. JJK did not have to front his debt either, and most people wouldnt have, and would've left KD to deal with it on his own.
With that said, even in a transactional relationship, it doesn't mean you can do whatever you want. You still have to have respect and basic decency towards your partner. So while I'm ok with JJK initially just using KD for relief, he definitely goes too far when it came to verbal abuse and that sht he pulled in front of the actor.
I just think the bar is in hell. People here like to say "there are worse ML" and yes there are. But imagine someone killing a child and then me just punching one in the face. Am I a good person now, only because there are people worse than me?

I'm not equating 'better' to 'good'. One is relative, the latter is objective. I'm using the relative statement bc the OP is wondering why there's so much public outrage towards JJK and IMO, it's bc ppl came into this story probably not expecting such toxicity to such lvls, compared to webtoons where the ML is outright crazy from the start.
It's just crazy that the OP is comparing JJK to partners in real life. I'd always hoped that ppl who read toxic fiction understood the clear separation between what to expect in real life and stories. OOf
