Mischaracterization come from big account interpreting it with poetry caption, using small irrelevant as a "sign", make the character they love like a victim despite multiple times he admit his decision on manhwa with big ahh text, on TikTok and twitter they're all like that, and people love poetry kind of interpretation and use that as a lens to read with no independent thinking.
