Guys what did that idiom with bears actually mean?

It's supposed to be "splitting hairs" but he says bears. Similar to later when he texts "dumb as Iraq" and Minjae corrects him and texts back "dumb as a rock". The bit is that he mis hears/mis repeats phrases, which is the thing Minjae finds the most hilarious about him.

It reminds me of taemin from payback with his hilarious dumbass mistakes I remember how he used to call Jay "psychopath" without knowing what the word meant just cos he heard it's a really bad word
