Hey so I've been a TJxIan Stan and had simp for TJ myself. He has always been a red flag and toxic from the very start. He didn't suddenly just become the big bad wolf just recently. The emotional abuse Ian went through ig isn't shown physical or explicitly so ig a lot his stan doesn't seem to get that through their thick skull or register the fact that TJ has never been a good lover to Ian.
The author didn't made him trash. Even when I don't like him I wouldn't even go as far to say that he is trash. I just think you're in denial and delusional over the fact he is in fact toxic and selfish so you have to blame it on the author writing.
