I understand his years of abuse and paranoia is a constant fear. But that's what's making his thoughts of actually trusting his brother that much more stupid. Like just a couple chapters ago he was smart enough to even verbalize just to the extents his brother would go to end him. But now, now he's going to trust it's that easy after he literally was just in an accident definitely orchestrated by his brother??? If anything, he should trust his brother even less on keeping to his word

Exactly. Wouldn't this just put more distrust??? Like the brother is a feral little shitbag willing to do anything for his personal gain and has done so this far...so it just makes me want to rip my hair out if he's actually trusting him. But maybe he's got a secret plan to somehow get himself out of this...maybe...if we live in delusion

i don't think he's contradictory. he knows hakyung is insidious but still wants to believe that he can have their relationship back if he finds a way to appease hakyung, and he's willing to take the hits if that gets him there. i don't think he trusts hakyung but he's desperate for relationship and still has a will to live, so he's taking this ultimatum. i think it does a good job at showing how vulnerable people get exploited. the people who don't understand are privileged to not understand.

I hope that last sentence is just a general statement and not an assumption at me lol. But I do understand what you're saying. I just think we are seeing his character from different perspectives. *long explanation just becsuse I'm a yapper* This is what I see. He's gone through all these years of trying to not be in his brother's way to avoid danger and had given up on their relationship going back to what it once was which is what lead to the contract relationship anyways, especially with grandpa being denser than a fruitcake on the matter. So the way he agreed felt to me like the author pulled back on his character's smarts and efforts to live that we witnessed chapters back. But maybe we'll see that fleshed out. Maybe he is giving up after these years. Obviously there's a lot people can heal from physically, but the mental toll tends to be what pushes them off the edge. So the accident and the dumbass ML being just another person to not listen could be the final straw and his last piece of hope and will have broken. Or he could be planning something (which I lean less towards). But again, to me it just seemed somewhat of an abrupt change to his character as he seems to genuinely believe his brother, accepted a new phone no paranoia or fear, and he brushed off the fear of ruining or ending someone else's life via his brother's plan after we have seen that he seems like a type of person who doesn't want to put someone else's life on the line with his brother
Grandpa claims this boy was smart. Starting to think we were lied to cause a mthfcker can't truly be trusting his brother will simply let him go. . .HE HAS BEEN TRYING TO KILL YOU FOR YEARS
