Your comment is insensitive, he literally gave orders to torture an innocent civilian 3 days straight. He does NOT get to be mad or “understanding” about MC being traumatized or anything and should repent for the rest of his days. He may not be a typical red flag from the usual BLs but he’s still a terrible person.

I read the novel. He doesn't give order to torture. He just give his subordinate order t9 extract info, yes, but the torture is surbodinate doing because they actually move independently. The subordinate did the torture based on suspicious alone and the ML doesn't check it believing the subordinate did "appropriate" job. There's human error in it. Alas, at least the ML knows he's wrong for not checking and decide to take responsibility.

i've read the novel up ch 11 and i'm planning to buy the rest of the chs later today. even though ml doesn't order his men to TORTURE mc (he acknowledges that mc is a civilian) he does say to "scare him a bit" to get information out of him. ml didn't know mc was being tortured and admonishes the soldier who had done it. ml chose to hide mc to protect him from the higher-ups, who ordered his death. ml has the moral disposition of a soldier, but he's not a bad person

I think it's more of the fact that op didn't choose his words correctly as if MC is the one 'misbehaving' for no reason even though he is the one that got tortured lol. 'Acting out' is definitely a poor choice of word and op saying that ML is very "understanding' in the same sentence makes it seem that he's tolerating the MC 'acting out' when he's the one who actually put MC in that situation.
Mistakenly, yes, but still his fault lol so he doesn't get to be impatient and he really should try his best to make MC's life comfortable. It is what he should do.

yeah it was def a poor choice of words but i feel like that still doesn't warrant the hostility of some of these replies?? spoilers but mc does try to (understandably) attack ml with a knife to which ml deescalates and calms him down without berating him. maybe that's what op meant by "acting out"? idk. but i get what they were trying to say
Edit: ive read the raws btw
Seme is very understanding and so far doesnt get mad at the uke for acting out
There is a fan translation of the novel but the newer stuff is behind a sign up or pay wall (im not signing up to check)
