I completeeeely agree. The man is so beaten down compared to when we first were introduced to him. His no.1 goal since his INCEPTION was to protect 704/Yoonhwi. He's done a lot and even after losing an arm, he still feels so inadequate and guilty.

Because they’re main couple too. The authors has clarified countless times that the four of them are the main characters. There’s no “one main couple and a side couple” both couples are main and equally important

Thank you for the info. By like ch 30 it was clear that this was an ensemble situation but I too though 704/Geumsen would take second couple position. I’m so glad they’re equal, Id even say they get more of the meat of the plot and drama.
I love how rebellious he is. He fights the instincts as hard as he could. People told him how a goblin should live and behave and he refuses to listen. Dude is hard headed and sticks to his beliefs. He’s also an idiot and made a lot of mistakes, but it’s soooo hard to hate him.
Yes!! Geumsun gets so much hate since on a very superficial level, he seems like a total jerk. But after reading the flashback, it should be clear how much struggle he has gone through and how often he was so close to giving up. Eunjae was the one showing him that forgetting isn’t always the best way to heal and it happened in such a recent time as well, considering how old geumsun really is.
He’d do everything for yoonhwi but sadly, at the beginning not for 704. I love how he’s slowly realizing that
I love LOVEEE yearner tops. But the plot has been so unfair to Geumsun. He’s spent centuries loving 704 and this love has prevented him from becoming the strongest Goblin. He’s barely hanging on and barely has any powers because he can only get his yang energy from 704 and he has only slept with him once after 704 was attacked. Imagine if, like other goblins, Geumsun slept around? He would be invincible. But first time I see that the love for someone makes them weaker instead of stronger. He lives and breathes for 704 but that same love has been holding his powers back his whole existence. This is why I love this story. You don’t see this level of devotion too often in BL. We always see tops killing and dying for their bottoms but rarely tops sacrificing their whole nature and potential for their bottoms.
