He does steadily get stronger and even begins impersonating an S Rank while still weak by using gadgets to ch idk 80-90, but It takes like 300+ chapters in the novel for him to fully uncover his power to SS rank. Even then his body can’t handle all his power and his lungs keep exploding.

the manhwa is at the same pace as the novel, and the novel has 560+ chaps currently.... still ongoing..... so if you don't find it fun now I advice to just drop it. personally I really hate reading big ongoing novels like this so I'm still shocked I even managed to read all that lol. but the novel is really fun and if you found something interesting about the story you can check it out first before dropping it.
