Can someone please explain to me why joshua asked the runcandel guards to protect Jin? And what does that dialogue about their mother saving joshua have anything to do with joshua saving jin????

I think there is a big mistake with the pronouns... You can reverse almost everything. Like, why Jin would talk about himself by saying "he" ? So I think Joshua was astonished that Jin trust the contract (wich probably is "siblings must protect the cadet") and reveal himself while waiting for Joshua to take action to protect him ( because he has to)

Also they’re no way for Joshua to let Jin die without suffering for it. Between all the citizens, reporters, Zippel reps being there. It’s not only about family obligations to not lose to Zippel or let them get away with stuff, but also Joshua physically can’t just sit there and let Jin die without losing everything. Luna is RIGHT there, the guards have the duty to protect children of the main line, and Yona would also be on his ass later + his father would be pissed he stooped that low to try and bring the next patriarch and disqualify him
