The mom is in the wrong for this. Honestly if I was a parent I wouldn't leave the country my child is in until they were at least 18, just out of love for them. I understand that that is situational so not always appropriate for everyone but it seems pretty doable in her situation. And then after her she sees her son is CLEARLY in a relationship, she asks him to move continents? It just doesn't seem very fair. Its not horrible and I can see why maybe she'd ask but if she didn't ask before because she knew he'd be uncomfortable, why would he be more comfortable now?
Idk maybe I'm in the wrong and someone can explain to me her pov but it just seems Inconsiderate

to me it seems like she's trying to at least make things a little right. she's not thinking very far ahead like you said, but she's proposing something that could make sense to him. i dont think she left him because she hated him at all but she sorta had to after the accident. i think it'd be interesting to see their relationship explored further.

Yeah you're right, I don't think she did it because she hated him either. I just meant I didn't think it was very considerate to move so far away when she could've waited till he was old enough to be alone. I don't think she's a bad person, I think she's just handled the whole situation poorly
