It's not like she said it out of the blue, yeonwoo said that he liked the place, so she asked if he WANTED to stay a little longer. It's no surprise that she'd see this visit as an opportunity to get closer with her own son.
She also apologized for her past actions, which is a little late, but it's still better than not apologizing at all.
It would be worse if she just replied with "well yeah that's good" and just let his son go, which can possibly lead to them not seeing each other in person for years again.
Again I know and I understand what I said was personally how I feel and this statement was based on how I would feel not yeowoon in this situation. I also apologise if my opinion is not agreeable for everyone
