I do understand the sentiments but I think this one will be different (hope doesn't jinx it) since the alpha is also a variant, same as the mc.

I don't think so, he didn't even seem aware when it happened, plus he is shown to be depressed about transitioning and his life so it's unlikely
As long as ML didn't have anything to do with MC transitioning into an omega, I can see myself liking this story. But I've seen too many cases of ML's scheming to bring MC to despair for revenge or to make him weak and easy to manipulate and possess so, I'm always sideeying MLs in this type of plot
