When have they ever tried to justify abuse like genuine question
If you look at the previous works of this author you’ll see that often they justify abuse by saying the abuser used to get abused or treated wrongly by the victim in the past. Or that they had a sad backstory or whatever.
It's not just this author... But this author usually goes with a combination of childhood abuse while also framing the victim (uke) as a bad person. Like it's okay to rape a bad person? No, of course it's not.
I know it's easy to get a justice boner on the internet and claim that some people deserve to be raped, but objectively we all know that's not true. If you're going to rape someone as a punishment you are just creating another rapist who needs to be raped as a punishment... Which just creates another rapist who needs to be raped as a punishment. It's a never-ending cycle and it's morally repugnant.
I think the person you're responding to has probably not read very much red flag toxic seme yaoi. We literally just finished in ark in Jinx where we learned how the toxic semes dad would beat him, like that somehow makes all the rape and abuse he did okay. It's in almost every single one of these.
We always always get a flashback that shows how pitiful and sad the semes childhood was and how terrible his parents were and we always get it right before the chasing arc starts. It's emotional manipulation and it doesn't work on anyone who's actually been exposed to abuse.
We all know there is no justification or excuse for abuse. It doesn't matter what's happened to you in the past or what sort of disabilities you may have, if you treat the people around you like garbage then you are garbage.
I actually have red a lot of red flag toxic yaoi, I just don’t see showing why a character is the way he is is justification of abuse. I do read jinx actually and literally as of recent chapters the seme realized that he treated the uke like absolute shit and saw the error in his ways- I don’t see how that author in particular is saying through the writing that what he did was okay? when him himself is realizing that its not? idk. not looking for an argument btw ! I hope I’m not coming off that way here… that’s all!
What I hate is that I know this author is going to try and justify this abuse. That's kind of their whole thing, lol... I shouldn't blame this author, it's kind of the theme of all toxic seme yaoi manhwa.
Just let the toxic seme just be toxic. Don't try to justify it through childhood abuse or whatever. No one thinks being abused as a child excuses you to abuse other people as an adult. It just doesn't accomplish what the author wants it to accomplish, which is the audience thinking a future where the two of them live happily ever after is possible when we know one of them is wildly, almost cartoonishly, abusive.
