I said the next part is kidnapping but I forget that there's another plot before the kidnapping. So, there's several S-rank espers in SK. And one of them is just 1-2 years older than MC, let'scall him CG (Coward Guy). CG has a pretty good reputation in SK and after failing to become ML's exclusive guide, people keep on pairing MC with CG. CG actually likes MC but MC doesn't have feelings for him. It's actually revealed later on that whenever CG tries to confess with MC, ML does something to stop it hahahhaha. So back to our story, CG completed his conquest of Africa's dungeon earlier than in the novel and he came to SK as soon as he heard that MC became ML's exclusive guide. CG tried to warn MC that ML is a bad person, etc. But MC already knows how low ML can get due to the novel so he wasn't that affected. Unfortunately, MC discovers that the letters he sent to CG adn CG's replies were intercepted by ML. At this time, MC still regards CG as his savior from a previous dungeon so it painted ML in a bad light. But ML has a pretty bad reputation already. Also, honestly? I really dislike CG. He has no spine at all. He can't even protect MC. He can't even defend MC from his father. He's like those spineless guys in dramas!
So, let's move on to the "Kidnapping". Well it's not technically kidnapping as MC willingly followed them. So what happened is that EB (Eldest adopted brother who is unawakened but smart) tried to manipulate MC. EB told him that ML has a fiance from another rich family and all that usual Kdrama shit. MC actually knows that EB is untrustworthy but because he keeps on deluding himself about the novel's storyline and that ML doesn't actually sincerely like him, so he decides on accepting EB's offer to transport him to the US. MC regards this as a way of safely escaping ML that's why he accepted it. When MC meets the ML later, he told ML that he wants to go to an amusement park. They enjoyed their time there, it was so cute! MC is scared of heights so they just rode the carousel, etc. The next day is the last day of their exam and vacation will start afterwards. MC has one last exam. MC decides that that is the perfect time to escape. So after receiving his test, he immediately turns it in (it's almost impossible to fail this class). He meets up with EB and EB makes changes to the plans like MC is now going to Texas, and MC knows SB (Second adopted brother who is unawakened but stupid) studies in Texas. He told EB that he doesn't want to meet SB no matter and was reassured that he won't. Then they switched cars. This new car has multiple a-rank espers and the car even has a barrier. Unfortunately, ML finally catches up to them and he was able to get MC. ML asked MC if he was kidnapped, that he was forced to go with them. ML knows that MC willingly went with them but he wants MC to tell him that he didn't and that he was forced to go with and that MC didn't want to leave ML. ML is basically pleading MC to lie to him at this point. But MC just apologizes to ML which broker ML's heart.
Oh, I forgot. The 2 adopted children were his biological cousins. They are the children of ML's Father's dead brother.
ML imprisons MC in his basement. Before Aaron enter the story, there was a few chapter about MC and ML attending an auction. This auction sold handcuffs, whips, etc that was used in the novel with the OG MC (Kim Jun). In this timeline, ML never used those with MC. But after MC tried to escape ML, ML imprisoned MC in his basement naked and chained. The place MC was imprisoned is not barbaric at all and he wasn't treated that badly (by badly I mean he wasn't abused besides being imprisoned and being naked). During his imprisonment, ML never showed himself to MC but provided MC with whatever he needs. After a few days, MC keeps on getting comfortable, albeit a little bored in his room. So he started requesting books etc. And whatever he requested, ML would provide it to him. At this point, MC starts to realize that he misses ML. He keeps on pleading ML to face him but he won't. He also tries to stay awakw at night so he can catch whenever ML tried to deliver his books, etc but he always fells asleep. Then one day, he also requested alcohol that works on awakened people. MC gets drunk and ML comes into the room and MC wakes up and tells ML all his troubles and that he misses him etc. This melts ML's heart and the next day when MC wakes up, he wakes up with ML on his side. <3
Next, ML brings MC to the island he grew up in (the one where he was abused). They stay there as ML still doesn't fully trust MC. And because MC used never flying in an airplane before as one of his reasons for going with EB. While confined in the island, MC discovers ML's tragic past because of the ring given to him by ML. The ring is from the first ever dungeon ML has ever conquered. And that dungeon was opened in that island before.a few things happened, and when MC discovered that ML was abused when he was a child, he swore that he will never leave ML again.
At this point, ML trusts MC again that he will never leave him so they left the island and they went to an Island state reserved for Awakened people as it helds the largets auction of dungeon products.
