Yeah, in the novel they took their time to do a first round outside then they moved to Chase's bedroom for the more rounds and many small things happened in between.
They even also skipped a lot of conversation between them and even how Josh was looking at Chase for a few minutes when he was swimming, idk this scene feels artificial like only pheromone induced, and it's not like that at all.
The reason everyone is excited for the beach scene is because of the anticipation and the tension between these two characters that’s been building up finally happened and it was written so well like you feel chase’s desperation for josh and vice versa… so to just rush it feels like the artist just want to cut corner and finish this as fast as possible :(
