It's not normalizing it, it's realizing that it's not reality. Nobody would be saying anything if the cat person, a fictional character looked his actual human age of 25 years old. There are hundreds of other anime and manga doing the same thing and I don't see people attacking them about it as much as I see people attacking this manga. Normalizing it would be doing what you guys are doing now. It's a fictional character, get over it.
