If the crush accepted, the mc would still be friends with his old fuck buddy. Which is very disrespectful for both to ml and the crush. So, yeah mc has many faults. And yes u can't accept someone be lovey dovey just because they fuck.

There are people who have ex-lovers as friends or keep a civilized relationship with them. There are divorces who co-parent harmoniously and supportive of each other. The romantic love or sex can fade but friendship can remain or build. For some is possible, and of course for some other it doesn't.
