Yeah exactly, like of course irl, being drugged (like being drunk) would not be consent, this could be what op meant but in this rian at least seemed to be aware what was going on, it could technically be classed as dubcon. Not the best but yeah. But as soon as what Rian was expecting was not met, thrown out the window and harmed, not consenting to being treated like that, it was rape. He wasnt in the position to withdraw consent either because enzo wouldn't have stopped no matter how much he would have struggled imo. Tbf, we can criticise the author because they are acting like it wasn't rape and isnt taking it seriously. Plus the fact it didnt need to happen in the first place for their relationship to still have this vibe.
My problem is more with the op not the ones coming to their senses, my bad for my wording and getting heated, it upsets me to see people victim blaming even if its a man, a couple or the circumstances, but its the fact they've left multiple comments saying basically rian deserved it, and was just as bad for wanting him to rape him. Perhaps they meant for wanting to have sex whilst being drugged, but in the end rian didnt deserve being treated like, to the point he threw up, that and saying they are meant for eachother due to it.
Plus even if he wanted enzo to help him with the effects of being drugged (again would be dubcon in this case imo), it doesnt mean enzo had to in the first place anyways, its not like Rian forced him to, Enzo did it by his own will. He decided to do that to rian, rian was just experiencing the effects and wanting due to it.
Yeah, exactly, irl there should have been charges of sexual-harassments all over their first meeting, let alone their first time! And you're right, victim blaming is so stupid, which annoyingly happens a lot, just look at Clinton's recent speech, pointing fingers at people who are getting mass murdered as the real culprits!
Those aside, I don't actually agree with "this not needing to happen" part; only the author can decide that, since what they say about every story being written backwards, also applies to bl stories... kind of?! But I think we should let the author cook. Personally, I didn't really like Red Candy's plot; it was full of holes, the characters didn't make much sense at times, but I admit the flow was good. Also, Uno's character was born there.
But in this story, I like almost everything (not the acts that took place during ch-20 and 21, which were undoubtedly vile, and again, no one deserves 1% of that shit, irl or even in fiction). But here, the plot is super smart, both main characters are solid, not spouting a single line out of character (some might disagree with that, but I think you should always ask "why", why a character did that, say that, etc. which can make a lot of senses of Enzo's psyche and behavior), also the flow, their dynamic, and the direction it's heading is just genius! Yes, it could've happened differently, but I don't think it could've led the story where it was supposed to go.
And was it violence for the sake of violence? I don't think so, but I'm still waiting on that, and I'm not downright rejecting the plot, only because there's a lot of mindless porn normalizing that shit. I mean, which part of Uno's reaction says that what happened was alright? He's practically planning to pull the bastard down from his high horse, and it's not just for his mission anymore; it's personal! I don't think the story's gonna take on the revenge course all of a sudden; it's not the right genre, but I see the tension, and it's not just playful anymore, it's more heated than that.

I need to remind you all that MC isn’t some kind of poor little victim, he begged him to stay, because he wanted to assault him. He’s just mad, because he was the one on the bottom and couldn’t rape him.
