I read this for escapism

as someone who does play mmos very often, the whole "class discrimination" is very accurate even recently. For example, the summoner class, similar to tamer in final fantasy 14 has been nerfed to the ground and so when people were doing the hard raids, the summoner job was one of the excluded ones when you'd try to join a party simply cos another job (picto/painter caster class) was the strongest and could provide better damage. So the dark mage talking shit about their job being better is also really accurate as it was the 2nd best in ff14 too.

it is like mean but some of these raids are really difficult and I agree that if you're amazing at it, you should just keep playing it but it means everyone else has to be as good at their jobs too. So in a way, the dark mage talking shit is probably not as good so they like the others who also looked down upon tamers needed any other class to have the damage that tamers lacked.
