Im not trying to start a discussion with you, but I think the main problem that people have is because all this pain that Jay is causing/caused in Kim Dan is supposed to "make sense" since he had a rough childhood, and that this is a love story, and that in the end all this pain he made Kim Dan feel will be then forgotten just because...? Honestly, his behavior hasnt changed much, especially in Kim Dan's perspective (that is very clear), he's just not raping him anymore (THE BARE MINIMUM) and I do see that he is at least trying to change, but the problem is that it is impossible to ignore all the problems he has caused! Especially since this is ultimately going to end with them in a happy relationship

most people in real life do not tend to create romantic relationships with their rapists. even if it's fictional, you're defending a rapist who abused someone so hard, he is trying to kill himself while sleepwalking and started to overdrink alcohol. you can talk all you want about how it's fiction etc. but you it doesn't change the fact that u defend romanticizing rape and toxic relationships (which staying in literally kills so many people) in mainstream media

I never said ppl fall for THEIR abusers but , doesn’t change the fact that plenty of rapists are in relationships and their spouses defend them. I also feel like Dan was most definitely drinking and sleep walking before everything occurred with Jay , he was already almost assaulted by a doctor at a previous job and had sharks down his throat beating him , of course everything that happened made it worse but you can’t act like he was solely victimized by Jay AND please do not put on me that I’m defending a rapist because the fact that it is fiction is important, I was assaulted and I assure you this stuff should never be tolerated in real life , it’s by far disgusting but the fantasy of someone being terrible and getting better is healing cause then you’re stuck wondering how they are just a horrible person even after witnessing the pain they caused , that’s why the line between fiction and reality is important.
