It’s basically DID. It’s also a philosophical argument. That the Id, the ego and the super-ego are three parts of the human consciousness and the three mugos are each one part. The god itself was created as jerk mugo but he has something similar to DID where personalities were born out of necessity and those were the ego (rational mugo) and the ID (monster mugo) while jerk mugo maintains his superego aka the decision maker or the judgement/bridge between the rational and the primitive. If you’ve ever read the strange case of dr Jekyll and mr Hyde, it’s a similar concept except that was duality and this is triality. Btw DID is a psychological condition where extreme stress causes a new personality to emerge in order to deal with a situation for example if you’re being abused as a kid and it’s really really difficult, you might find yourself with a protector personality that’s violent and assertive or if you have learnt that fighting back gets you hurt but you can’t stop the instinct to fight back (since everyone has a preferred fear response out of the 4), you might have a pacifist emerge in the form of a sweet and naive child who’s only job is to fawn. It’s a way for the subconscious to split and protect the main personality (the superego) by sending another - specialised for this issue - branch to combat the issue. The reason why the ego (lord mugo) isn’t coming out anymore is because he’s slowly being integrated back into the main personality as he’s no longer needed as a separate entity. Monster mugo is still needed since jerk mugo is still under threat and now he has an omega to care for so he needs a violent protector.

This story is also probably a social commentary about religion as a whole too. That we put things that are “different” and “unknown” on a pedestal and call them gods but really are they? Are we sure they don’t just have undiagnosed psychological conditions? Like how before we had words like “autism” and “special interests”, we called them “genius” or “idiot savant”. Mugo is just an alpha with money and intelligence and a psychological condition. He’s called a god but a lot of things in this story can actually be explained away by mental illness like the sprites and the ghosts being a symptom of schizophrenia and his obsessive nature is an obsessive personality disorder or how he’s narcissistic. An actual psychiatrist or philosopher would have a field day with the mugos lol
It feels like I get and also not at the same time. Anyone explain like why 3 diff mugo when only one was created as the god. Welcome to theories too
