I think seeing that the pedo uncle knew the ml as a kid and tried to kill him then and seeing the mentions of revenge in chap 37 confused me. I rlly dont wanna go back and read this again but do you know or remember if it was already hinted that the pedo uncle knew the ml from the past in the first season like he killed the parents or was this new info in the new season?

Their deal stemmed from the fact that ML was working his way through the familial company. He was icing out the pedo uncle through business deals (remember those other shareholders the MC had to connive and deal with, the perv, his cousin, and the other uncle guy?) so the pedo uncle felt his time was coming to end so he felt he had to cut his losses and just snatch the MC so he devised a plan to have the ML take the blame or most of it and have the ML use the MC as collateral
Yeah it was also kinda cool that he killed him in the same manner that the pedo uncle attempted to do to him when he was a child
