Why is boring

I don’t mind if Jitae is shown as cruel or cold, red flag or whatever, but wasn’t he originally built as “pure, selfless love” for Mieum? He even went abroad 10 years to escape his feelings. ss1 was strange and a bit rapey, but at least he tried to push Mieum away for Mieum safety. By ss2, after Mieum regained his memories, things felt more stable, then suddenly the author makes Jitae antisocial?

That’s boring, because now Jitae is basically the same as Jin. Why create two characters with the same obsessive traits? Jitae once dissing Jin for wanting Jian dependent on him, but now he’s doing the exact same thing. At least Jin has always been openly selfish and possessive, while Jitae suddenly turns into an emotionless manipulator using Mieum’s guilt.

I thought the author wanted to contrast “pure love” vs “selfish love.” Jin and Jian are toxic but balanced, beside the author never even tried to prove that JinJian is love, Jin literally just obsessed with Jian unlike Jitae. Meanwhile, Jitae and Mieum’s dynamic is just control and guilt. Jitae, is this what your “love x999” is supposed to be? So the message is: real love = one person controlling and the other enduring? That’s ridiculous. Mieum don’t deserve it.

I'm aware this story's plot was never its strong point. The author's approach is convoluted and easily distracted by sex scenes. Still, in ss 1-2, I could at least somewhat grasp what the author was trying to convey. Now? I feel personally insulted for using my brain on this mess.
