I feel like from what I read his love is more idolized than romantic, he idolizes the emperor and wishes him greatness while the emperor fells more (in a twisted selfish and manic) "romantic" love and MC with his more "I love from afar" idol live can't really accept the emperor therefore with the emperor being the way he is (self, manipulative, etc) forces it up on the poor guy especially after the lie from the Empress saw the opening and took it and here we are
I know the emperor is a bad person and is doing terrible things. I'm not saying anything positive about him.
I don't understand the MC. I don't understand how he feels about the emperor at all. He says he's in love but he's also not at all interested. This was the case before any of the rape stuff started. What is his motivation? What does he want? What does he feel? I just feel like so little has been done to explain him.
