the translation for the bigger part of the story was absolutely incredible, what a pleasure to read! felt like reading a book straight out of that period, and if there exists a novel to this story, perhaps the translators used it as a reference? i haven't read a magna with such accurate 19th century speech and setting ever before, that's why I'm beyond impressed

Check out "Moonlight" by Kie. It is a historical fictio BL and feels like a tragedy in the making so if it's not to your liking don't red it, but the translations are absolutely wonderfull, even more classical than the ones here if you can imagine. The dialogue are very packed and the characters overall are very dimensional as well so every interaction feels like a theatre play.

thank you for the rec! i have in fact read this story before and dropped it because i felt too sad for the mc . but you are right the translations are so good it's definitely worth a read even for that reason alone.
