if i’m being honest i think it’s because there has been an increase of people wanting to get into yaoi, and they see that this is popular but aren’t cultured in queer fiction and don’t understand that abuse and rape are main themes in these stories (i’m not trying to say that those plot points are okay i’m just saying they are used a lot).

i dont think anybody is denying the fact that the artstyle is beautiful and the plot has so much depth, but you cant question why people hate on it when it does have those themes of rape or abuse
to each their own, just saying that the artstyle and plot shouldnt dismiss the fact that its RAPE, and its never okay to normalize that
we all want better for our yaoi community and i think generally people would like if their MCs werent living happily ever after with the people that rape, abuse, and treat them like shit

I’m genuinely here to ask because, from my perspective, this work is just one of many, and it’s not even the worst one out there. People are allowed to dislike certain genres or stories and that’s my main takeaway from all this.
I think this story just became so popular that it turned into an easy target for criticism. Since abuse and rape are, unfortunately, common tropes in the yaoi genre, this one ended up taking most of the hate simply because it’s the most well-known example that represents those issues.
And I guess that answers why jinx fans or people who read jinx gets hated on alot.

Ofc it's rape, ofc ML is trash because he treats MC like a tool in the past. No one denies the fact that this is beautiful porn with some plot.
The author created BJ alex, which also features a trash ML and sexual abuse at the start and no one denies the fact that it's rape and nonconsensual.
