The love interest only started getting all buddy buddy with the main character, after finding out he’s a top player of a popular competitive game. When the love interest was first introduced to the comic he just seemed like a dick, and after finding out about the main character he just seemed fake. Annoying love interests in comics are really hard to enjoy. xx Also the comic kind of just seemed like a weird rip off of My Guildmate Next door
I feel like the ml likes him because he’s a 1% player but not because he like wants to use that, more because of there rivalry. In the first few chapter in the old game they used to play together we can see that he constantly battled each other and ml wanted to be friends online. I think it’s more that he kinda looked up to him. Also him acting like a dick in the first ep towards me was because his username was the same as in the other game. He thought someone was trying to impersonate the mc lol. Just read the novel if u don’t like the manga it’s good
